Front Vanity Plate

I do not know what Toyota dealers do to attach license plates to the fronts of Tacoma trucks in states where front plates are required.  I decided that I wanted to put a vanity plate on the front of my truck, so I purchased a number of items and developed my own kit.

I purchased the black Mounting Plate and mounting screws by Cruiser Accessories  (I wound up not needing the separate mounting screws) from AutoBarn.com.  I picked up the chrome License Plate Frame by Pilot Automotive from my local Wal*Mart store.  I acquired the Vanity Plate from an eBay store.  The Quick Fist rubber clamps came from another eBay seller.

I attached the Quick Fist clamps to the Mounting Plate as shown at left.  To attach the clamps I used a pair of screws, lock washers and nuts that I had on hand.  I wound up having to shear the screws a bit shorter with a grinder so that they did not extend beyond the surface of the Mounting Plate.

The Vanity Plate and the Chrome Frame were installed on the Mounting Plate using the screws that were supplied with the Mounting Plate.

The Quick Fist rubber clamps were then used to attach the Mounting Plate to the lower bar of the Westin Bull Bar.

The end result looks really nice and adds a little splash of color to an otherwise rather monochromatic image.
