Queenstown, New Zealand

What do you name a town fit for a Queen?

      Queenstown of course.

Above right is the T.S.S. Earnslaw docked at Steamer Wharf.  Below is just another typical New Zealand view.  This one just happens to be in Queenstown.

At left is a long pier extending from one form of paradise to another.

You might not guess that there is a sizable town behind me as this photograph is taken.

Big Bear technology store is located on Shotover Street in Queenstown.

The Internet Depot is also located on Shotover Street.  Our APT tour manager and our coach driver spoke highly of this facility to check email while staying in Queenstown.

A statue (left) on Steamer Wharf celebrates the wool industry in New Zealand.

Departing for another trip over land and in water is a duck (above right) from Queenstown Ducks.  Lynn and I enjoyed a similar duck ride some years ago at the Wisconsin Dells.

It was discovered that California Giant Sequoia trees grow much faster in New Zealand soil.  This tree (above left, above right and right) is in the heart of Queenstown and has signs on it showing it is protected.

St. Peter's Church (above) was simply too picturesque to not photograph.

Queenstown's Kiwi & Birdlife Park is another popular attraction in Queenstown.  Above left is the entrance to the park.  The park also features a Maori Hunting Village where visitors may see how early Maori lived in Queenstown on their quest for greenstone.

In several locations in Queenstown, we noticed a stencil of a man's face.  Three of them were lined up on the door shown at left.
