On Saturday, March 12, 2005 we were on our way from Dunedin to Mt. Cook.  En route, we stopped at Moeraki Beach and viewed the unusual large round polished Moeraki Boulders that seem to inexplicably lie on the beach.

      In the photographs above and at left are views of Moeraki Beach from a nearby touring stop.  I didn't go right up to the Moeraki Boulders due to a lack of time, but I was able to get the digital zoom to bring them closer to me (photograph below).
