I enjoyed New Zealand so much more because I shared the experience with my high school sweetheart, best friend and soul mate.  Lynn took six rolls of photographs.  Some of them are shown below.

Auckland taken from the crest of Mt. Eden.

St. Gerard's Monastery in Wellington looking down from the peak of Mt. Victoria..

A view of Wellington Harbour from Mt. Victoria.

Riding the wake of The Lynx Ferry on our way to the south island.

While on our Whale Watch, Lynn obtained much better images of whales near Kaikoura than I did with my digital camera.

Each one of these are very difficult to take.  There is a magic moment when the whale prepares to dive after it has come to the surface to aerate itself.  Although we had an advantage of experts on our boat telling us when to be most ready, it was still a challenge when you are not in a position to waste a lot of costly film.

Lynn was able to get several images where you can even see the water spill off the back of the tail.

Each of these are different whales.  We enjoyed seeing over half a dozen on that one outing.

This one almost looks as if it is waving to us.

We also steered through a very large school of playful dolphins on that Whale Watch.
