Fox Glacier, New Zealand

On Monday, March 7, our APT group visited the Fox Glacier area.  Above and at left are dramatic views of the end of the glacier as it emerges from the lofty cloud cover  and finally melts away to a stream below.  Although the glacier flows at a slow pace, the end recedes each year and markers indicate the changes over the years.

Adjacent to an area cleared for parking to view Fox Glacier, a monolithic wall of dirt and rock aims skyward.

Heading toward Fox Glacier is a view of a dramatic landslide of rock and stone from a nearby mountain side.

Looking off to slightly another direction is a beautiful waterfall draped on either side by a curtain of green.
