Rotorua is New
Zealand's oldest and best known resort, where generations of
visitors have enjoyed its waters, marveled at its fascinating
geothermal activity and experienced the regions unique Maori
culture. Today we give you the opportunity to choose the
activity and we will include it. You may choose a leisurely
soak in a natural thermal mineral pool, try your hand at trout
fishing or be entertained and educated by a sheep show and shearing
display. Perhaps visit Rainbow Springs or Whakarewarewa
Thermal Reserve, New Zealand's major geyser field. The area
has over 500 hot springs and most forms of geothermal activity,
including steaming ground, boiling mud pools, hot springs and
impressive geysers. The choices are numerous.
Country Homestay
Option: This evening you have selected to stay in a New
Zealand home, if you have any questions with regards to this stay
please liaise with your Tour Manager or Coach Captain. It is
advisable that you pack an overnight bag only, as your hosts have
limited luggage space in their vehicles. The remainder of your
luggage will be safely stored at the hotel.
2:45 pm Please be
waiting in the lobby of your hotel to meet your hosts who will
transfer you to their homes at 3:00 pm. The following morning
your hosts will transfer you back to the hotel by 8:00 am, where you
re join your tour group. ANY CANCELLATIONS WITHIN 48 HOURS OF
A COUNTRY STAY ARE SUBJECT TO CANCELLATION CHARGES.
(NOTE: Lynn and I had not
discussed selecting the homestay with Brendan Worldwide Vacations
and we called Linda immediately to cancel that option. We were
not comfortable with the idea of staying at the home of someone we
were not familiar with. Those on our tour who did select the
homestay option all had wonderful times. Lynn and I also had a
nice time enjoying Rotorua a little longer and staying once again at
the Park Heritage Rotorua hotel.)
