I have a strong background in large company customer service departments. Armed with that experience, I have written my share of complaint letters while knowing that some companies do care about what their customers see on the front lines.
My wife and I also have an uncommon background in home buying. Between us, we have purchased and subsequently lived in five homes in three states not counting additional contracts negotiated for apartments many times before we started buying homes.
Hoping to have established a baseline for a credible opinion, we'd like to state that we have been thrilled with the workmanship and customer service provided by D.R. Horton and their sister mortgage company, CH Mortgage. At each step of the way, D.R. Horton and CH Mortgage representatives have taken uncommon care to address our concerns and meet our needs. This is not to say that we waived our rights to negotiate price, options and financing terms. To those ends, no one has better representation than themselves (or perhaps an attorney). But without exception to date, each and every D.R. Horton representative has surpassed our expectations for kindness and fulfilled commitments on a timely basis.
Too easily and too often big business becomes a target of criticism and complaint. All the while, and much more frequently, good things a business might do go un-noticed, un-praised and un-thanked. We felt so strongly about how well D.R. Horton treated us that I wrote not one, but two letters of praise for their employees to their corporate offices in Texas. Namely, Nina Storti, Jim Kuntz, Darlene Johnson, Nate Carr, Dan Michlin and Leslie Garner have worked together as a professional team in outstanding ways we have never experienced before when buying a home.
THANK YOU, D.R. HORTON.
Best Regards, Don and Lynn Thomas
